Monday - Painting Fun!!

Hello all! Today we spent the day helping our fellow Dominican Christians paint their church. The pastor was so thrilled to have us there to help and announced to his congregation on Sunday that we would be there on time and expected those who were helping to be there on time as well! As many of you know, being on time in many countries means that you have about an hour window to show up AFTER the assigned time and still be considered on time!

We painted the sanctuary inside of the church - walls and ceiling- as well as a side office. We also painted about half of the outside of the church. Tomorrow's adventure includes finishing up the outside as well as another room inside. It was a good day of hard work and we were very thankful to be able to help our Dominican friends in a very real and tangible way.

A few of the guys have also been helping with repairs around the mission guest house and it is always amazing to watch how the Lord places the perfect "helper" to solve the current problem.

We are all doing well and continue to pray for our health and endurance to keep up the pace of the next few days. Our accommodations have been great, including the food. However, a few cultural adjustments, which include roosters crowing all through the night as well as a showers that wouldn't be called hot!

thank you for your prayers! We love reading the comments, so feel free to post and let us know you are reading!! Also, we attempted to upload pictures but were unable to, so you'll have to stay tuned AFTER we get back to the US for the picture upload!

Painting...well now...paint anywhere else other than on the walls and ceiling? Do you have a few streaks of "whatever" color in your hair? Will you all come back with different hair styles and colors? Press on despite the "new look." Flower Lady

Looks like you are having fun. I wish I was there. ( a postcard in reverse)
Maybe next time. Anyway, my mission this time is to pray for you all. Can you give us some specific requests?
